The Work Experience section helps recruiters understand your professional journey, including the roles you’ve held, the skills you’ve gained, and the impact you’ve created. A complete and verified work experience section significantly increases your chances of getting shortlisted.

Adding a Work Experience

To add a new work experience, go to Profile → Career → Add Work Experience. You will see a form with the following fields:

Job Title

Enter the position you held. Example: UI/UX Designer, Content Writer, Software Intern
Recruiters filter candidates by job title. A clear title makes your profile appear in more searches.

Company Name

Add the organization you worked with. Example: Microsoft, Zoho, Freelance, Startup name
Recruiters check company credibility and experience relevance. A real company name builds trust.

Work Mode

Select how you worked:
  • On-site
  • Hybrid
  • Remote
Many companies prefer specific work styles (e.g., remote-friendly or onsite roles). This helps match you accurately.

Work Type

Choose the type of employment:
  • Full-time
  • Internship
  • Part-time
  • Contract
  • Freelance
Recruiters use this field to understand your career stage and experience level.

Location

Mention the city/state you worked in. If remote, you can still add your base location.
Location helps match you to region-based jobs and relocation opportunities.

Start Date & End Date

Add your joining and end date. If you are still working, enable “I’m currently working here.”
Recruiters evaluate your experience duration, stability, and timeline.

About Your Role

Describe what you did in this role, your responsibilities, achievements, tools, and learnings and you can rephrase with Record AI - Max of 500 letters and max of 5 rephrases for free.

Adding Skills

Skills represent what you have demonstrably used or been evaluated on in a specific role or project. Only added skills are indexed for recruiter search and reflected in your profile strength. Only add skills you actually gained from this experience. When you request verification, the endorser will review these skills.

How to Add Skills

  2. Search for a skill
  3. Select up to 5 relevant skills
  4. Save
These skills get linked to that work experience.

Search & Skill Availability

Use the search bar to find any skill in our skill taxonomy. If you can’t find a skill:
  • Click Request New Skill
  • Enter the exact name
  • Submit
Our team reviews and approves valid skills and adds them to the repository.
Helps you earn verified skill badges, improves recruiter search visibility, and clearly shows what you’ve been evaluated on. Choose skills that genuinely match the role.

Verification

You can request verification for this added work experience. A verified experience increases your profile credibility.

How verification works

  1. Enter the organization domain & official email of your verifier, they can be:
    • HR
    • Manager
    • Team Lead
    • Founder
    • C-Suite
  2. They receive an instant verification email
  3. They approve it / send for correction / reject it
    Once verified, the endorser’s email ID will be displayed under the specific experience they verified.
  4. Your experience becomes Verified, increasing trust

Important guidelines

  • Use only professional email IDs (company domain)
  • Avoid personal Gmail/Yahoo IDs
  • Do not use friends or personal email for verification
  • Ask your verifier to check Spam/Promotions, if they don’t see the mail
  • Verification time depends on the verifier

Editing Work Experience

Once saved, details such as title, company, description, skills, and dates cannot be edited. To make changes, you must delete and re-add the experience and request verification again.

  • Only add relevant skills
  • Request verification from a credible person
  • Keep descriptions short but meaningful
